Although Ma celebrated her 18th birthday just shy of one week ago, the student fully understands young people’s cruciality at the ballot box this fall. “I think [voting] directly impacts our government because it is one of our given rights as American citizens that we are able to participate in voting in elections. Dashing into the new season, NC’s cross country team competes within their troupe in an intra-squad relay and costume contest. Building rapport and offering an accessible race for parents to spectate and practicing short-distance runs, these NC Warriors donn their funniest costumes to sprint through the NC trails to bring home the gold. Freshman Natalie Zeferino and junior Jed Nugugi took home winning medals, with junior Grace Amah and sophomore Nickolaj Verbanac running up close behind. Featuring yellow body paint, muddy shoes and friendly rivalry, the 2024 intra-squad relays successfully captured what teamwork truly means.
