The rise of cringe culture in 2020 resulted from the lack of inhibition that individuals felt when expressing themselves through social media and the internet in general. This free-spirited form of sharing paved the way for a wave of judgment-free self-expression, allowing people to embrace their weirdness and gain a new level of freedom outside of the judgmental mainstream. Six years later, cringe culture still holds a valuable place within society, even as satire.

Deadlines stack up while expectations grow louder with every semester. Achievements look polished on the surface, yet pressure builds quietly underneath. Behind grades, rankings and resumes, there lies a weight that rarely enters the conversation. Late nights, constant comparison and the pursuit of perfection create tension that follows students far beyond the classroom. Success carries recognition, yet the strain behind it rarely receives the attention it deserves.

Students throughout Cobb County struggle in the face of lackluster grades. The structure of the current grading system holds 89% and 80% to the same standard in terms of credits allotted, but the Grade Point Average (GPA) that results from the mark does not reflect the study habits of students who receive grades close to the next letter. A plus system benefits all academically ambitious students impacted by this scenario.
