On January 24 and 25, North Georgia will experience an onslaught of hazardous weather. Cold air will infiltrate late Friday night, setting the perfect environment for freezing rain, sleet and snow to form over the weekend. The National Weather Service and Governor Brian Kemp warn citizens to prepare for obstructed roadways and potential power outages.

After a concerning drop in student attendance, NC introduces a new initiative to encourage students to attend class consistently, as prompted by Cobb County. The “Be here to get there” slogan strives to provide awareness, but it does so with increased enforcement of punishment but also adding rewarding incentives. While the plan still receives heavy construction, NC hopes to promote student’s futures by encouraging responsibility and timeliness.

Media literacy amongst the public becomes a massive concern due to the increase in misinformation. Luckily, recent efforts by the teenage-led organization, Rhizome, aim to combat this problem. The organization recently held an event that educated numerous teenagers on the topic of media literacy, providing information on misinformation, bias, evaluating the reliability of news sources and learning how to analyze media.

Remembering those who passed allows people today to understand the true depth and meaning of the affliction, granting individuals the tools to prevent another catastrophe from occurring. By remembering the Holocaust, the world allows those laid to rest, with only a number to their face, to receive the recognition they deserve.

As of October 2025, a group of Buddhist monks from a monastery in Texas began a 2,300-mile walk for peace to Washington, D.C. The monks stop in cities along their path to spread their message of peace and unity with people of all backgrounds. This noble pursuit occurs in the hope that Congress will recognize Vesak, Buddha’s day of birth, as a national holiday to promote prosperity and kindness across the nation.
